I’m not exactly sure what inspired me to write this quote, but I think it comes from my lifelong habit of observation. From a young age, I’ve been a keen observer — not that I had much choice, as I didn’t have many resources. So, I would listen a lot to the people around me.

Through observation, I noticed a strange fact about life: people often chase after fake things. For example, when someone wants to get married, they might spend all their savings to feel like royalty for that one day. But why don’t they put in the effort to actually become “kings” in their own lives?

If you aren’t a king, why not choose a simple wedding? Why these fake displays? Just to show off to relatives and pretend to be rich, even if you’re not? Why not embrace reality and work toward becoming the true king of your own life? After all, this is your life, not theirs — right?

As social media becomes more popular, everyone seems to want to be a celebrity, just for the sake of going viral. Some people who can’t afford luxury cars or bikes take out expensive loans to get them, while others save just to rent them. It’s better to accept your current reality than to pretend to be someone you’re not. These actions only kill the real you.

Why are we trying to impress others by building mountains of fake stories, just because we worry about what they think? And even if someone does think something about you, does it really matter? No, right?

People don’t want to work with truth; instead, they take shortcuts to success, trying to avoid hard work and ignoring the consequences. They’re willing to pay any price, often taking on massive debts just to “keep up.” In the end, these choices drain them of both happiness and peace.

I believe in living simply, growing slowly but truthfully. At least that way, you’ll find happiness and peace of mind. People forget that these are priceless things — things money can’t buy — yet they trade them away in pursuit of materialistic goals that only end up ruining their lives.

So, I wrote this quote:

“The world of Kalyuga is built upon towering mountains of fake stories, where truth is often treated as the wrong choice.”
