Sometimes Time Pressure Works As a Support for Success — Kabir Narayan Jha
A lot of people might disagree with the title statement. Even a few years ago, I used to think the same way. However, one incident changed my perspective and taught me an important lesson, which inspired me to write a quote to remind myself of it:
“Having plenty of time can lead to confusion in decision-making and may affect your actions.”
– Kabir Narayan Jha
Let me explain why I wrote this. I once attended a religious fair with some friends. While we were enjoying the event, I noticed that some of my friends were confused because they had too much time on their hands. They explored countless things without understanding the purpose behind them, wasting time without any productive outcome or achievement.
In contrast, I had a clear mindset. I knew why I was there, what I wanted to experience, and what I needed to explore because I had to finish my office work. I’m not saying that having time to reflect and relax is bad, but too much free time can sometimes leave us so confused that we struggle to make decisions in life.
That’s why discipline and time management are taught in schools, yoga centers, and workplaces. It encourages us to work with clarity, even when we don’t have it fully figured out.
